The museum declined to take part in the investigation since its holdings consist almost entirely of a private collection accumulated before 1933.
About this museum and its collection
The museum is in the Archipel neighbourhood of The Hague where many of the characters in author Louis Couperus’s novels lived, such as Eline Vere in the eponymous book. The exhibits relate to the life and work of Louis Couperus, including a desk and a portrait of his father. These objects and all Couperus’s manuscripts belong to Nederlands Letterkundig Museum.
