Slot Loevestein
Investigation results
None of the objects in this museum have problematic provenance.
Result of this investigation
The museum reports that it has found no objects with problematic provenance in its collection. Investigators checked the collection registration system, the archaeological department’s card catalogue, annual reports and Nationaal Archief archive sources. Most items are archaeological finds, the provenance of which is known and unproblematic. The provenance of objects such as books and prints could not be determined since these lack individually identifiable characteristics. Few objects actually required investigation. The church silver turned out to have been in the castle since the seventeenth century.
