About this museum and its collection

The museum presents the history of Leeuwarden and its surroundings. HCL preserves documents about Leeuwarden and Leeuwarderadeel, including archives, photos, prints, maps and architectural drawings. It also has an extensive library and a film collection. The municipal art collection is also managed by HCL, as is the nearby Pier Pander Museum and Oldehove.
