Result of this investigation
Museum de Kantfabriek was set up as a foundation in 2006 to take over the property of Stichting Oudheidkamer Horst, which was established in 1974. Horst antiquities room held numerous items given by aristocratic families. Many of these were portraits of family members and had been the possession of the family since their completion. The museum reports that none of its objects appear to have problematic provenance. Investigators checked the inventory and interviewed lenders and donors.
About this museum and its collection
Located in an old lace factory, the museum possesses a collection of textiles and objects relating to the textile industry of Horst and the surrounding region. The collection includes perforators, homemade lace and various historical objects from Horst antiquities room, including several portraits.
