About this museum and its collection

The museum possesses over a thousand ships in bottles, from a tiny perfume vial to a giant 30-litre flagon, from the early days of Dutch seafaring and the Dutch East India Company (VOC), to fishing boats and whalers and lifeboats. A continuous video presentation reveals how the ship gets into the bottle.
