Stedelijk Museum Zwolle
Investigation results
None of the objects in this museum have problematic provenance.
Result of this investigation
The museum reports it has little information about its purchases and gifts, as the inventory books and cards of objects acquired since 1933 show. Often, no record was kept of the identity of the seller of a purchased item, or even the date it was acquired. The correspondence archive is equally sparse. In consultation with the project team, the museum concludes that the two items which the museum bought at auction in the 1930s are unproblematic. Many of the acquisitions made since 1933 are prints and archaeological objects.
